Happy Birthday Dad

90 today

 

OK, so I know Dad does not have the internet, but this is my tribute to a great man.

Former soldier, a driver mechanic in REME, demobbed after the campaign in Palestine. Dad was one of the last to leave, towing a number of vehicles to the port.

After demob, Dad worked in his father’s fishmonger’s shop, (see image) later moving on to be a fishmonger in various markets around the Huddersfield area.

Looking forward to Saturday when there is a party. And no doubt we will hear some of his quips.
