You see, that they are going to fail is good news. That we fail is good news. The reason is that no matter if we fail, no matter if we give up on God, no matter how big our failure is, God will never fail. God will never give up on us.

The Song of the Well
In the desert, God provided the Israelites with fresh water. It was not their doing. The song of the well, asking for God's water, is a song of praise for this provision.
Thanks—Psalm 107
Book 5 of the Psalms, comprising Psalms 107 to 150, opens with a glorious song of gratitude and concludes with five exuberant hymns of praise. This section starts off on an exceptionally positive note, as it overflows with expressions of thankfulness for the numerous ways in which God lavishes His blessings upon us. From start …
Hope—Psalm 71
In the 1975 TV documentary "Cracked Actor," the legendary David Bowie shows off his artistic flair by scissor-kicking phrases from magazines. He then rearranges those snipped-out words to create songs. Talk about magazine magic! And guess what? It turns out that Psalm 71 is a total rockstar compilation of phrases pulled from the other Psalms*. …
Blessing—Psalm 67
Psalm 67 could be a modern worship song. It's like the psalmist took some seriously inspiring words from Numbers 26:24-25, where it's all about the Lord blessing and keeping you, making His face shine upon you and being all gracious and stuff. Say nowt?—Psalm 39
Psalms of David There's a Yorkshire motto: "See all, 'ear all, say nowt.Eat all, sup all, pay nowt. And if tha ivver does owt for nowtDo it for thissen."* I find this motto to be too selfish to be Christian. -o0o- Psalms in Book 1 (Psalms 1 to 41) are primarily personal songs, so I will …
Forgiveness—Psalm 38
Psalms of David What do we know about Psalm 38? It is a quasi-acrostic poem. The 22 verses correspond to one of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet, but the poem itself does not follow the alphabet. This links it to the previous psalm, Psalm 37. which is acrostic. It is a lament. Many Biblical laments …
