40 Names of Jesus in 40 days of Lent — Day 33
16 For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—all things were created through him and for him. 17 And he is before all things, and in him all things hold together.
Colossians 1:16-17 ESVUK
Hands that flung stars into space

To cruel nails surrendered.
I like the picture above, of the hand of Christ creating the universe, even though planets orbiting a nebula is wrong. It gives me a feeling that God is present in creation. That is my autistic brain in conflict, on the one hand the visual thinking kicks in and I meditate on the picture and hear God saying, ‘all this is for you,’ and on the other hand my literal brain is worried that the nebula and the planets in the picture are not to scale.
While looking up the meaning of Christ as the creator I came across a Christian blog that claimed that creation and evolution were opposites and if evolution were true there would be no God and because God exists evolution must be false. I disagree with this on two grounds, firstly, it is not the conclusion of the blog post but the premise and secondly evolution could be the means of creation. What that blog post does provide is a good list of verses that Christ was the creator of the universe, so I have no problem with providing a link to that blog post as I love debate.
The problem I have with creationism is that it paints a picture of God creating the universe and then sitting back and doing nothing. I believe that God has been active in guiding and sustaining creation from the very beginning.
Then at a point in history, God’s plan from the beginning of creation was put into practice. He knew that given free will humans would go their own way and mess things up, so he came to a specific place in a specific time as a human being to show humans the way to behave by serving each other and being humble. He even subjected himself to being killed by the very people he had come to save. Hands that flung stars into space to cruel nails surrendered.
