It’s the end of an era. After twenty years of lunchtime jazz at the Head of Steam it has ended.
Lunch on the last Sunday will not be the same. The pub has been taken over and the accountants have looked at the turnover. It looks like music is uneconomical.
This sort of thing has happened before. The accountants first say, “Why are you paying for musicians, get rid of them.” Then after some time ask, “Why are your takings down?”
I hope the new owners don’t get rid of the extensive beer menu.
