The Father in one word – Love
The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.
2 Corinthians 13:14 ESV

Some people have got an idea of an angry God who hates us, Let’s call him the Old Testament God, and that the New Testament God, Jesus came to save us from that wrath of that vengeful God. In their mind the Father, the Old Testament God is not a God of love.
Not unsurprisingly to anyone who has read my blogs, I disagree with that. It does not represent how I understand the scriptures from both Old and New Testaments. Just about the most well known Bible passage, from the Gospel of John, tells us that “For God so LOVED the world, that he gave his only Son.” (John 3:16 ESVUK, with my capitals and bold).
God loves us, not just some sort of elite, God who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth is for everybody. God loves everybody. God loves atheists, not believing in God is no barrier to God’s love. There are no restrictions, sex, gender, sexuality, race, colour, nationality, age, nothing, nothing is a barrier to God’s love.
The Old Testament says the same thing:
Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live? Ezekiel 18:23.
I have loved you with an everlasting love, Jeremiah 31:3
We have Jesus because of the Father’s deep love for us, love that is one-sided, it is freely given out and asks for nothing in return. That is the meaning of the Greek word agapé, ἀγάπη, the type of love that the Father has for us.
God loves you, rejoice in this.
