Movember has started, and on 5th November there is not much mo to show for it yet, just what looks like a dirty top lip.
For those who are confused by that openning sentence, Movember is not one of my many typos, it is a campaign to raise awareness of men’s health issues.
- Men on average die 4.5 years younger than women for largely preventable reasons.
- Mental health – Globally, we lose a man to suicide every minute of every day.
- Prostate cancer is the most common cancer in men over 45.
- Testicular cancer is the #1 cancer in young men.
But as well as the awareness of men’s health there is also the question of money,
I am doing this together with a number of other men at Holy Trinity Huddersfield, and there is a giving page set up. Please be generous. If you can’t afford to give or don’t want to give that’s OK. If you think the lowest suggested donation of £20 is too much, or wish to give more than the highest suggestion of £200 you can adjust the amount on the page. Go here.
Please give. But more importantly, raise awareness of men’s health issues.
