Party Animal

Party animal is not a phrase you think of when you think about Jesus. But you may have to think again. If you are of a puritanical disposition now is the time to stop reading.

The thing is that Jesus likes a party, from the wedding party where the people drank so much that the wine ran out, to the party at the end of his ministry that e know as the Last Supper, it is hard to find mention of Jesus and parties that do not mention wine. He could not have been accused of being a winebibber if he was teetotal.

The idea that sober living is the same as holy living are the same thing is rooted in the idea that sacred and secular are different things. The Jewish understanding is that God is interested in the fun stuff as well.

So this Christmas have fun. And party.
