YHWH is God’s actual name which he revealed to Moses from the burning bush, it implies the personal nature of God.

The second part of the name here is how God relates to us:

Three for the price of one this week (still free) becaise they are closely reated. Eloheka means Your God, it is related in three directions,

  • Elohay – Myself to God
  • Elobeenu – A people to God
  • Eloheka – God to people

Do you see how this is all about a relationship? God relates to both individuals in a personal way, and the relationship is two way. But it is not an equal partnership. The instigator of the relationship is God, and he is saying…

I have something even better for you.

He says, “I am Yahweh your God,” in Exodus 20:2, and puts restrictions on us because he wants the very, very best for us. He is both Lord and holy, but also close to us. In love he gives rules about how to relate to him so that we do not come to harm, then asks us to relate to others as God relates to us, so that they shall come to no harm.

God knows that bad things happen, that you go through stuff and it may seem like God is not there. You pray, you may even fast, but you cannot feel that God is with you. May I assure you that God is there in the dark times of your life, God still cares abd wants the best for you. Even if you have given up beleiving in God, or never believed, God is there wanting the best for you, saying “I have something for you that is even better than what you have.”

God will never leave you or forsake you. If you cast your cares on God he will sustain you, it does not matter how dark and troubled the times you are going through are, you will never be forsaken by God. God has said this and God can be relied on.

Do not give up on God, because God has not given up on you.
